§ 253.10 - Cost of living adjustment.

§ 253.10 Cost of living adjustment.
(a)
(a) On December 1, 2003, the Librarian of Congress shall publish in the Federal Register a notice of the change in the cost of living as determined by the Consumer Price Index (all consumers, all items) during the period from the most recent Index published prior to December 1, 2002, to the most recent Index published prior to December 1, 2003. On each December 1 thereafter the Librarian of Congress shall publish a notice of the change in the cost of living during the period from the most recent index published prior to the previous notice, to the most recent Index published prior to December 1, of that year.
(b) On the same date of the notices published pursuant to paragraph (a) of this section, the Librarian of Congress shall publish in the Federal Register a revised schedule of rates for § 253.5 which shall adjust those royalty amounts established in dollar amounts according to the change in the cost of living determined as provided in paragraph (a) of this section. Such royalty rates shall be fixed at the nearest dollar.
(c) The adjusted schedule of rates for § 253.5 shall become effective thirty days after publication in the Federal Register.
