Chapter I - Environmental Protection Agency |
SubChapter E - Pesticide Programs |
Part 180 - Tolerances and Exemptions for Pesticide Chemical Residues in Food |
Subpart C - Specific Tolerances |
§ 180.242 - Thiabendazole; tolerances for residues.
-
§ 180.242 Thiabendazole; tolerances for residues.
(a) General.
(1) Tolerances are established for residues of thiabendazole, including its metabolites and degradates, in or on the commodities in table 1 to paragraph (a)(1). Compliance with the tolerance levels specified to table 1 to paragraph (a)(1) is to be determined by measuring only thiabendazole in or on the commodity.

Compliance with the tolerance levels specified to table 2 to paragraph (a)(2) is to be determined by measuring only the sum of thiabendazole (2-(4-thiazolyl)benzimidazole) and its metabolite 5-hydroxythiabendazole (free and conjugated) calculated as the stoichiometric equivalent of thiabendazole, in or on the commodity.

Time-limited tolerances specified in table 3 to this paragraph (b) are established for residues of the thiabendazole, including its metabolites and degradates, in or on the specified agricultural commodities, resulting from use of the pesticide pursuant to FIFRA section 18 emergency exemptions. Compliance with the tolerance levels specified in table 3 to this paragraph (b) is to be determined by measuring only the sum of thiabendazole (2-(4-thiazolyl)benzimidazole) and its metabolite benzimidazole (free and conjugated), calculated as the stoichiometric equivalent of thiabendazole. The tolerances expire on the date specified in table 3 to this paragraph (b).
