    AGENCY: Office of the Associate Administrator for Commercial Space 
    Transportation (AST-1), Department of Transportation (DOT).
    
    ACTION: Extension of comment period.

    SUMMARY: On November 27, 1995, the former Office of Commercial Space 
    Transportation, now the Office of the Associate Administrator for 
    Commercial Space Transportation (OCST), published a Notice of Intent in 
    the Federal Register [60 FR 58430] announcing its intent to prepare a 
    Programmatic Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) which will address 
    the environmental impact of commercial expendable launch vehicle 
    operations. OCST invited comments from interested individuals or 
    organizations concerning the process and scope of the EIS. The Notice 
    of Intent previously established December 27th, 1995, as the deadline 
    for comments. The comment period is now extended from December 27th, 
    1995, until February 9, 1996, to provide additional opportunity for 
    comment.
