Nuclear Safety Research Review Committee

AGENCY: Nuclear Regulatory Commission.

ACTION: Notice of meeting.

    The Nuclear Safety Research Review Committee (NSRRC) will hold its 
next meeting on January 25-26, 1996. The location of the meeting will 
be in the Cabinet-Judiciary Suite, Hyatt Regency Hotel, One Bethesda 
Metro Center, Bethesda, MD. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss 
the conduct of future safety research for the NRC by outside parties in 
the light of budgetary considerations.
    The meeting will be held in accordance with the requirements of the 
Federal Advisory Committee Act (FACA), 5 U.S.C.App. This will be a 
closed meeting pursuant to 5 U.S.C.App.10(d) and 5 U.S.C.552b(c)(9)(B) 
because premature disclosure to the public of the programmatic and 
budgetary information to be discussed would be likely to significantly 
frustrate implementation of future NRC contracting actions.
    The NSRRC provides advice to the Director of the Office of Nuclear 
Regulatory Research (RES) on matters of overall management importance 
in the direction of the NRC's program of nuclear safety research.
    Participants in parts of the discussion will include senior NRC 
staff and other RES technical staff as necessary.
    Any inquiries regarding this notice, or any subsequent changes in 
the status and schedule of the meeting, may be made to the Designated 
Federal Officer, Dr. Jose Luis M. Cortez (telephone: [phone]), 
between 8:15 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
