ACTION: Notice of extension of time limit for final results of
    antidumping duty administrative review.

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------

SUMMARY: The Department of Commerce is extending the time limit for the
final results of the administrative review of the antidumping duty
order on Certain Cut-to-Length Carbon Steel Plate From Mexico. The
review covers one manufacturer/exporter of the subject merchandise, and
the period of review August 1, 1997 through July 31, 1998.

    EFFECTIVE DATE: January 11, 2000.

FOR FURTHER INFORMATION CONTACT: Thomas Killiam or Robert James,
Enforcement Group III, Office 8, Import Administration, International
Trade Administration, U.S. Department of Commerce, 14th Street and
Constitution Avenue, NW, Washington, DC 20230; telephone (202) 482-3019
    or 482-0649, respectively.

SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION: Under section 751(a)(3)(A) of the Tariff Act
of 1930, as amended (the Act), the Department of Commerce (the
Department) may extend the deadline for completion of an administrative
review if it determines that it is not practicable to complete the
review within the statutory time limit of 120 days after the date on
which the notice of preliminary results was published in the Federal
Register. In the instant case, the preliminary results were published
in the Federal Register on September 7, 1999 (64 FR 48584) . The
Department has determined that more time is needed to consider comments
made by the parties in their October 22, 1999 case briefs and their
    October 27, 1999

rebuttal briefs. See Memorandum from Edward Yang to Robert S. La Russa,
January 3, 1999. Therefore, pursuant to section 751(a)(3)(A) of the
Act, because it is not practicable to complete this review within the
original time limit, the Department is extending the time limit for the
final results to no later than March 6, 2000.

        Dated: January 4, 2000.
