Malacha Hydro Limited Partnership; Notice of Availability of 
Environmental Assessment

January 14, 1997.
    An environmental assessment (EA) is available for public review. 
The EA is for an amendment of license application for the Muck Valley 
Hydroelectric Project, located in Lassen County, California. The 
amendment application concerns minor structural modifications to the 
project's existing diversion and intake structures. The EA finds that 
the modifications to the project would not constitute a major federal 
action significantly affecting the quality of the human environment.
    The EA was written by staff in the Office of Hydropower Licensing, 
Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. Copies of the EA are available 
for review at the Commission's Reference and Information Center, Room 
2-A, 888 First Street, NE., Washington, D.C. 20426. Additional 
information can be obtained by calling the project manager, Jon
