    Public Land Order No. 7237; Revocation of the Executive Order 
    Dated October 24, 1916; Washington
    
    AGENCY: Bureau of Land Management, Interior.
    
    ACTION: Public land order.

    SUMMARY: This order revokes in its entirety an Executive order which 
    withdrew approximately 155 acres of public lands for the Bureau of Land 
    Management's Powersite Reserve No. 556. The lands are no longer needed 
    for the purpose for which they were withdrawn. The lands are included 
    in overlapping withdrawals and remain closed to surface entry and 
    mining. The lands have been and will remain open to mineral leasing.
    
    EFFECTIVE DATE: January 27, 1997.

        By virtue of the authority vested in the Secretary of the Interior 
    by Section 204 of the Federal Land Policy and Management Act of 1976, 
    43 U.S.C. 1714 (1988), it is ordered as follows:
        1. The Executive Order dated October 24, 1916, which established 
    Powersite Reserve No. 556, is hereby revoked in its entirety:
    
    Willamette Meridian
    
    T. 13 N., R. 23 E.,
        Secs. 2, 11, and 12, all unsurveyed islands lying in the 
    Columbia River.
    T. 14 N., R. 23 E.,
        Secs. 27, 28, 33, 34, and 35, all unsurveyed islands lying in 
    the Columbia River.
    
        The areas described aggregate approximately 155 acres in Grant and 
    Yakima Counties.
        2. The lands are included in Power Project No. 2114 and the 
    Columbia River Improvement Project, and remain withdrawn from operation 
    of the public land laws, including the mining laws. The lands have been 
    and continue to be open to applications and offers under the mineral 
    leasing laws.
