CNG Transmission Corporation; Notice of Tariff Motion Filing

    January 21, 1998.
Take notice that on January 14, 1998, CNG Transmission Corporation
(CNG) tendered for filing as part of its FERC Gas Tariff, Second
Revised Volume No. 1, Second Sub. Sixteenth Revised Sheet No. 35, with
an effective date of January 1, 1998.
CNG states that the purpose of this filing is to remove references
to an ``Excess Injection Charge'' in compliance with the Suspension
Order, which CNG had not removed from Sub. Sixteenth Revised Sheet No.
35 filed on December 31, 1997. CNG requests waiver of Section
154.206(b) of the Commission's regulations, so that its tariff sheet
    may become effective as proposed.
CNG also notes that its December 31, 1997 Motion Tariff Filing
incorporated the small-customer transportation rates proposed in Docket
No. RP98-65; CNG has thereby compiled with the filing requirement
established by the Commission's December 31, 1997 Letter Order in the
    above-referenced proceedings.
CNG states that copies of its letter of transmittal and enclosures
are being mailed to its customers and interested state commissions.
Any person desiring to protest said filing should file a motion
with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, 888 First Street, N.E.,
Washington, D.C. 20426, in accordance with Section 385.211 of the
Commission's Rules and Regulations. All such protests must be filed as
provided in Section 154.210 of the Commission's Regulations. Protests
will be considered by the Commission in determining the appropriate
action to be taken, but will not serve to make protestants parties to
the proceeding. Copies of this filing are on file with the Commission
and are available for public inspection in the Public Reference Room.
    David P. Boergers,
    Acting Secretary.
