routine use to one of the Railroad Retirement Board's (RRB's) Privacy
    Act systems of records.

DATES: The proposed routine use will be effective 30 calendar days from
the date of this publication (February 27, 1997), unless comments are

SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION: The Debt Collection Improvement Act of 1996
(Pub. L. 104-134) requires Federal agencies to furnish necessary
information to the Department of the Treasury to enable that agency to
attempt to collect outstanding Federal debts by offsets to Federal
payments. In order to comply with the provisions of the Privacy Act,
the RRB must publish a routine use to its applicable Privacy Act System
of Records that will allow it to furnish the Department with the
information necessary to collect any debts arising under the laws
    administered by the RRB.

        By authority of the Board.
    Beatrice Ezerski,
    Secretary to the Board.
