Hearing Cancellation

AGENCY: Internal Revenue Service, Treasury.

ACTION: Cancellation of notice of public hearing on proposed 
regulations.

SUMMARY: This document provides notice of cancellation of a public 
hearing on proposed Income Tax Regulations relating to the requirements 
for filing information returns on magnetic media or in other machine-
readable form under section 6011(e) of the Internal Revenue Code.

DATES: The public hearing originally scheduled for Wednesday, February 
5, 1997, beginning at 10:00 a.m. is cancelled.

SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION: The subject of the public hearing is 
proposed regulations under section 6011(e) of the Internal Revenue 
Code. A notice of proposed rulemaking and notice of public hearing 
appearing in the Federal Register on Thursday, October 10, 1996 (61 FR 
53161), announced that the public hearing on proposed regulations under 
section 6011 of the Internal Revenue Code would be held on Wednesday, 
February 5, 1997, beginning at 10:00 a.m., in the Commissioner's 
Conference Room, Room 3313, Internal Revenue Building, 1111 
Constitution Avenue, NW. Washington, D.C.

    The public hearing scheduled for Wednesday, February 5, 1997, is 
cancelled.
