ACTION: Announcement of funding awards.

SUMMARY: In accordance with section 102(a)(4)(C) of the Department of
Housing and Urban Development Reform Act of 1989, this notice announces
the funding decisions made by the Department in a competition for
funding under the Fiscal Year 1994 Supportive Housing Program. The
notice contains the names of award winners and the amounts of the
awards.

SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION: The purpose of the competition was to award
grants for the development of supportive housing and supportive
services, including innovative approaches to assist homeless persons in
the transition from homelessness and to enable them to live as
independently as possible.
The assistance made available in this announcement is authorized by
Title IV, Subtitle C, of the Stewart B. McKinney Homeless Assistance
Act of 1987, as amended. The competition was announced in a Notice of
Funding Availability (NOFA) published in the Federal Register on May
10, 1994 (59 FR 24255). Applications were rated and selected for
funding on the basis of selection criteria contained in that Notice.
A total of $290.1 million was awarded for 272 grants. In accordance
with section 102(a)(4)(C) of the Department of Housing and Urban
Development Reform Act of 1989 (Pub. L. 101-235, approved December 15,
1989), the Department is publishing the grantees and amounts of the
awards in Appendix A to this document.
