Natural Gas Pipeline Company of America; Notice of Compliance 
Filing

December 29, 1997.
    Take notice that on December 22, 1997, Natural Gas Pipeline Company 
of America (Natural), tendered for filing as part of its FERC Gas 
Tariff, Sixth Revised Volume No. 1, Substitute Seventeenth Revised 
Sheet No. 14 and Fifth Revised Sheet No. 21, to be effective December 
1, 1997 and January 1, 1998, respectively.
    Natural states that the purpose of this filing is to implement two 
elements of the Stipulation and Agreement (Settlement) filed by Natural 
on May 31, 1996, and approved by the Commission in a letter order 
issued on November 3, 1997 in Docket Nos. RP95-326-010 and RP95-242-
010. The revised tariff sheets correct a minor clerical error in the 
ITS rate matrix and institute certain increased Settlement rates under 
Rate Schedule FSS.
    Natural requested any waivers which may be required to permit the 
tendered tariff sheets to become effective on December 1, 1997 and 
January 1, 1998.
    Natural states that copies of the filing have been mailed to 
Natural's customers, interested state regulatory agencies and all 
parties set out on the official service list in Docket Nos. RP95-325 
and RP95-242.
    Any person desiring to protest said filing should file a protest 
with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, 888 First Street, NE., 
Washington, DC 20426, in accordance with Section 385.211 of the 
Commission's Rules and Regulations. All such protests must be filed as 
provided in Section 154.210 of the Commission's Regulations. Protests 
will be considered by the Commission in determining the appropriate 
action to be taken, but will not serve to make protestants parties to 
the proceeding. Copies of this filing are on file with the Commission 
and are available for public inspection in the Public Reference Room.
