    Natural Gas Pipeline Company of America; Notice of Compliance 
    Filing
    
    December 29, 1997.
        Take notice that on December 22, 1997, Natural Gas Pipeline Company 
    of America (Natural), tendered for filing as part of its FERC Gas 
    Tariff, Sixth Revised Volume No. 1, Substitute Fourth Revised Sheet No. 
    21, to be effective December 1, 1997.
        Natural states that the purpose of this filing is to comply with 
    the Commission's letter order issued December 15, 1997 in Docket Nos. 
    RP95-326-000, et al., and RP95-242-000, et al., which required Natural 
    to reflect certain reduced rates under Rate Schedule FSS. The filing 
    also includes an explanation of the rate applicable to the LN option 
    under Rate Schedules FTS and FTS-G, as required by the letter order.
        Natural requested any waivers which may be required to permit the 
    tendered tariff sheet to become effective on December 1, 1997.
        Natural states that copies of the filing have been mailed to 
    Natural's customers, interested state regulatory agencies and all 
    parties set out on the official service list in Docket Nos. RP95-325 
    and RP95-242.
        Any person desiring to protest said filing should file a protest 
    with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, 888 First Street, N.E., 
    Washington, D.C. 20426, in accordance with Section 385.211 of the 
    Commission's Rules and Regulations. All such protests must be filed as 
    provided in Section 154.210 of the Commission's Regulations. Protests 
    will be considered by the Commission in determining the appropriate 
    action to be taken, but will not serve to make protestants parties to 
    the proceeding. Copies of this filing are on file with the Commission 
    and are available for public inspection in the Public Reference Room.
