    NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION
    [Docket Nos. 50-327 and 50-328]

Tennessee Valley Authority (Sequoyah Nuclear Plant Units 1 and
2); Notice of Withdrawal of Application for Amendment to Facility
    Operating License

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (the Commission) has granted
the request of the Tennessee Valley Authority (the licensee) to
withdraw its May 19, 1995, application for proposed amendment to
Facility Operating License Nos. DPR-77 and DPR-79 for Sequoyah Nuclear
Plant Units 1 and 2, located in Soddy Daisy, Tennessee.
The proposed amendment would have revised Technical Specification
surveillance requirement 4.1.1.3 to conditionally exempt the end-of-
life measurement of moderator temperature coefficient.
The Commission had previously issued a Notice of Consideration of
Issuance of Amendment published in the Federal Register on June 21,
1995 (60 FR 32372). However, the licensee made a decision to withdraw
the proposed change on December 17, 1996 on the basis that the change
is no longer required. This notice is to document withdrawal of the
    subject amendment request.
For further details with respect to this action, see the
application for amendment dated May 19, 1995.
The above document is available for public inspection at the
Commission's Public Document Room, the Gelman Building, 2120 L Street,
NW., Washington, DC, and at the local public document room located at
the Chattanooga-Hamilton County Library, 1001 Broad Street,
    Chattanooga, Tennessee.

Dated at Rockville, Maryland, this 30th day of December 1996.
