to the Secretary, Federal Maritime Commission, Washington, DC 20573, by 
October 14, 1997.

    Title: Transpacific Westbound Rate Agreement.

    Synopsis: The proposed amendment would reduce from three days to 
two days, the notice period required before a member line may take 
independent action on cargo which will not fit in standard sized 
containers or on ``out-of-gauge cargo.'' The parties have requested a 
shortened review period.
