U.S. Virgin Islands; Amendment to Notice of a Major Disaster 
Declaration

AGENCY: Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).

ACTION: Notice.

SUMMARY: This notice amends the notice of a major disaster for the U.S. 
Virgin Islands, (FEMA-1067-DR), dated September 16, 1995, and related 
determinations.

EFFECTIVE DATE: September 29, 1995.

SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION: Notice is hereby given that, in a letter 
dated September 29, 1995, the President amended the cost-sharing 
arrangements concerning Federal funds provided under the authority of 
the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act (42 
U.S.C. 51521 et seq.), in a letter to James L. Witt, Director of the 
Federal Emergency Management Agency, as follows:

    I have determined that the damage in the U.S. Virgin Islands, 
resulting from Hurricane Marilyn on September 15-17, 1995, is of 
sufficient severity and magnitude that special cost-sharing 
conditions are warranted under the Robert T. Stafford Disaster 
Relief and Emergency Assistance Act (``the Stafford Act'').
    Therefore, I amend my declaration of September 16 to authorize 
Federal funds for the Individual and Family Grant and Hazard 
Mitigation programs at 90 percent of total eligible costs. I further 
authorize Public Assistance program funding at 90 percent of total 
eligible costs except for direct Federal assistance for emergency 
work which was authorized prior to September 30, 1995.
    Please notify the Governor of the U.S. Virgin Islands and the 
Federal Coordinating Officer of this amendment to my major disaster 
declaration.
