Sumas International Pipeline Inc.; Notice of Tariff Filing

October 10, 1996.
    Take notice that on October 7, 1996, Sumas International Pipeline 
Inc. (SIPI), tendered for filing as part of its FERC Gas Tariff, 
Original Volume No. 2, the following tariff sheet, with a proposed 
effective date of October 1, 1996:

Sixth Revised Sheet No. 4

    SIPI states that the above tariff sheet reflects the new ACA unit 
surcharge rate of $.0020 per Mcf which is equivalent to $.0020 per 
MMBtu on SIPI's system. As the new ACA rate is a decrease, SIPI has 
sought a waiver to allow the collection of the new rate effective 1 
October 1996.
    Any person desiring to be heard or to protest said filing should 
file a motion to intervene or protest with the Federal Energy 
Regulatory Commission, 888 First Street, N.E., Washington, D.C. 20426, 
in accordance with Rules 211 and 214 of the Commission's Rules of 
Practice and Procedure (18 CFR 385.211 and 385.214). All such motions 
or protests must be filed as provided in Section 154.210 of the 
Commission's Regulations. Protests will be considered by the Commission 
in determining the appropriate action to be taken, but will not serve 
to make protestants parties to the proceeding. Any person wishing to 
become a party must file a motion to intervene. Copies of this filing 
are on file with the Commission and are available for public 
inspection.
