DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE
Office of the Secretary
Renewal of the Navy Planning and Steering Advisory Committee
ACTION: Notice.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
SUMMARY: The Navy Planning and Steering Advisory Committee (NPSAC) has
been renewed in consonance with the public interest, and in accordance
with the provisions of Pub. L. 92-463, the ``Federal Advisory Committee
Act.''
The NPSAC provides objective advice and recommendations to the
Secretary of Defense, the Secretary of the Navy, and the Chief of Naval
Operations on matters relating to ballistic missile security and anti-
submarine warfare. The committee establishes a technical dialogue
between experts from the public and private sectors on matters of
national security involving the ballistic missile program.
The NPSAC will be composed of approximately 25 members, from
government and private academic, scientific, and intelligence
communities who are experts in the disciplines of ballistic missile
security and anti-submarine warfare, thus ensuring a fairly balanced
membership in terms of the functions to be performed and the interest
groups represented.
