    SUMMARY: Notice is hereby given that appointments have been made to 
    fill eighteen (18) vacancies on the Migrant and Seasonal Farmworker 
    Employment and Training Advisory Committee.

        The Migrant and Seasonal Farmworker Employment and Training 
    Advisory Committee was established to provide a mechanism for securing 
    advice regarding the overall operation and administration of Migrant 
    and Seasonal Farmworker programs, as well as the coordination of other 
    programs providing services to migrant and seasonal farmworkers. In 
    addition, the Committee will be asked to solicit the views of 
    farmworker groups and to advise the Secretary of Labor with regard to 
    program implementation under the Workforce Investment Act, performance 
    standards, program evaluaton and services needed in support of the 
    Section 402 program.
    
    DATES: These appointments were made and were effective on October 19, 
    1998. The Committee Charter provides for two

    year staggered terms and it provides that members may be reappointed. 
    In order to stagger the terms, one-half of the initial appointments are 
    for a one-year term. Those appointments selected for the initial one-
    year terms were identified by the Secretary.
