The Consumer Product Safety Commission (“Commission,” or “CPSC”) has approved a document titled, “Plan for Retrospective Review of Existing Rules.” CPSC seeks comments on this plan.

SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION:

The Commission has approved a Plan for Retrospective Review of Existing Rules (“Plan”) that sets forth a method for identifying and reconsidering certain rules that are obsolete, unnecessary, unjustified, excessively burdensome, counterproductive, or ineffective, or that otherwise would benefit from modification. The Plan's review processes are intended to facilitate the identification of rules that warrant repeal or modification, including those that could benefit from strengthening, complementing, or modernizing. The Plan is consistent with Executive Orders 13579,^[1] 13563 ^[2] and 13610.^[3] The Plan is available on the Commission's Web site at: http://www.cpsc.gov/​Global/​Regulations-Laws-and-Standards/​Rulemaking/​DraftrulereviewplanSeptember2015Final.pdf.
