    ACTION:

    30-Day Notice.

    SUMMARY:

    The Department of Homeland Security (DHS), U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) will be submitting the following information collection request to the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) for review and clearance in accordance with the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995. The information collection notice was previously published in the Federal Register on July 16, 2012, at 77 FR 41796, allowing for a 60-day public comment period. USCIS received one comment in connection with the 60-day notice and acknowledges receipt in item 8 of the supporting statement.

    DATES:

    The purpose of this notice is to allow an additional 30 days for public comments. Comments are encouraged and will be accepted until November 29, 2012. This process is conducted in accordance with 5 CFR 1320.10.

    Overview of This Information Collection

    (1) Type of Information Collection Request: Extension, Without Change, of a Currently Approved Collection.

    (2) Title of the Form/Collection: Monthly Report on Naturalization Papers.

    (3) Agency form number, if any, and the applicable component of the DHS sponsoring the collection: N-4; USCIS.

    (4) Affected public who will be asked or required to respond, as well as a brief abstract: Primary: State or local Governments. Section 339 of the Immigration and Nationality Act requires that the clerk of each court that administers the oath of allegiance notify USCIS of all persons to whom the oath of allegiance for naturalization is administered, within 30 days after the close of the month in which the oath was administered. This form provides a format listing the number of those persons to USCIS and provides accountability for the delivery of the certificates of naturalization as required under that section of law.

    (5) An estimate of the total number of respondents and the amount of time estimated for an average respondent to respond: 160 respondents at 12 responses annually at 30 minutes (0.5) per response.Start Printed Page 65706

    (6) An estimate of the total public burden (in hours) associated with the collection: 960 annual burden hours.
