Meeting on Proposed Rule to Amend Gas Valuation Regulations For 
Indian Leases

AGENCY: Minerals Management Service, Interior.

ACTION: Notice of meeting.

SUMMARY: The Minerals Management Service (MMS) will hold a public 
meeting in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to discuss a proposed rulemaking 
regarding the valuation of natural gas produced from mineral leases on 
Indian land. The proposal was published in the Federal Register on 
September 23, 1996, (61 FR 49894). The proposed rule would add 
alternative valuation methods to the existing regulations and 
represents the recommendations of the MMS Indian Gas Valuation 
Negotiated Rulemaking Committee. This proposed rule also contains two 
new MMS forms and solicits comments on these information collections. 
Comments on this rule must be submitted to MMS by November 22, 1996. 
The purpose of the meeting is to explain the proposed changes to the 
regulations governing the valuation for royalty purposes of natural gas 
produced from Indian leases and allow all interested parties to discuss 
the proposed rulemaking. Interested parties are invited to attend and 
participate at this meeting.

DATES: A public meeting will be held on Wednesday October 23, 1996, 
from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.

Members of the public may make statements during the meeting and are 
encouraged to file written statements for consideration.
