Union Electric Company; Notice of Availability of Environmental 
Assessment

October 26, 1995.
    In accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969 
and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission's Regulations, 18 CFR Part 
380 (Order No. 486, 52 FR 47910), the Office of Hydropower Licensing 
(OHL) reviewed an application for dredging on the Lake of the Ozarks at 
the Osage Project. The applicant proposes to excavate approximately 
2,675 cy of material for the purpose of providing boat access to 17 
existing boat docks.

The proposed excavation will occur on project lands and waters in 
Benton County, Missouri. The primary purpose of the excavation activity 
is to provide boat access to project waters for private recreational 
use. The staff prepared an Environmental Assessment (EA) for the 
actions. In the EA, staff concludes that approval of the non-profit use 
of project lands would not constitute a major federal action 
significantly affecting the quality of the human environment.
    Copies of the EA are available for review in the Reference and 
Information Center, Room 2A, of the Commission's offices at 888 First 
Street, N.E., Washington, D.C. 20426.
