    Notice Pursuant to the National Cooperative Research and 
    Production Act of 1993--Center for Waste Reduction Technologies 
    (``CWRT''): Phytoremediation Research Project
    
        Notice is hereby given that, on June 3, 1999, pursuant to Section 
    6(a) of the National Cooperative Research and Production Act of 1993, 
    15 U.S.C. 4301 et seq. (``the Act''), Center for Waste Reduction 
    Technologies (``CWRT''): Phytoremediation Research Project has filed 
    written notifications simultaneously with the Attorney General and the 
    Federal Trade Commission disclosing (1) the identities of the parties 
    and (2) the nature and objectives of the venture. The notifications 
    were filed for the purpose of invoking the Act's provisions limiting 
    the recovery of antitrust plaintiffs to actual damages under specified 
    circumstances. Pursuant to Section 6(b) of the Act, the identities of 
    the parties are Center for Waste Reduction Technologies, New York, NY; 
    American Institute of Chemical Engineers, New York, NY; CH2M Hill, 
    Inc., Englewood, CO; The Dow Chemical Company, Midland, MI; HNA 
    Holdings, Inc., Summit, NJ; ICI Canada, Inc., North York, Ontario, 
    CANADA; and Rohm and Haas Company, Philadelphia, PA. The nature and 
    objectives of the venture are to produce a comprehensive non-propriety, 
    compilation of information, data and experience about phytoremediation, 
    and to present the results of this integrated study to the participants 
    in a final report which will stand up to peer review to demonstrate the 
    credibility of its conclusions.
