Texas Gas Transmission Corporation; Notice of Filing of Tariff
    Sheets

    November 6, 1998.
Take notice that on November 2, 1998, Taxas Gas Transmission
Corporation (Texas Gas) tendered for filing, as part of its FERC Gas
Tariff, First Revised Volume No. 1, with an effective date of January
    1, 1999:

    Second Revised Sheet No. 189

Texas Gas states that the tariff sheet being filed herein revises
Section 22 of Texas Gas's General Terms and Conditions to include
language providing invoices have a ``check the box'' option for
shippers to voluntarily contribute funds to the Gas Research Institute
(GRI). This provision was established as a part of the Stipulation and
Agreement concerning GRI Funding in Docket Nos. RP97-391-000, RP97-149-
002 and RP97-3-000 (not consolidated). The instant filing is made in
compliance with Commission Order dated April 28, 1998 (83 FERC 61,093)
which allows shippers to voluntarily contribute funds in addition to
those collected through the GRI surcharge.
Texas Gas states that copies of the tariff sheets are being served
upon Texas Gas's jurisdictional customers and interested state
    commissions.
Any person desiring to be heard or to protest said filing should
file a motion to intervene or a protest with the Federal Energy
Regulatory Commission, 888 First Street, NE., Washington, DC 20426, in
accordance with Sections 385.214 or 385.211 of the Commission's Rules
and Regulations. All such motions or protests must be filed in
accordance with Section 154.210 of the Commission's Regulations.
Protests will be considered by the Commission in determining the
appropriate action to be taken, but will not serve to make protestants
parties to the proceedings. Any person wishing to become a party must
file a motion to intervene. Copies of this filing are on file with the
Commission and are available for public inspection in the Public
    Referance Room.
