Request for Public Comments Regarding OMB Clearance Entitled
Architect-Engineer and Related Services Questionnaire (SF 254)
AGENCIES: Department of Defense (DOD), General Services Administration
(GSA), and National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).
ACTION: Notice of request for public comments regarding an extension to
an existing OMB clearance (9000-0004).

SUMMARY: Under the provisions of the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995
(44 U.S.C. Chapter 35), the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR)
Secretariat will be submitting to the Office of Management and Budget
(OMB) a request to review and approve an extension of a currently
approved information collection requirement concerning Architect-
Engineer and Related Services Questionnaire (SF 254). This OMB
clearance currently expires on March 31, 1996.

SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION:
A. Purpose
Standard Form 254 is used by all Executive agencies to obtain
uniform information about a firm's experience in architect-engineering
(A-E) projects. The form is submitted annually as required by 40 U.S.C.
541-544 by firms

wishing to be considered for Government A-E contracts. The information
obtained on this form is used to determine if a firm should be
solicited for A-E projects.
B. Annual Reporting Burden
Public reporting burden for this collection of information is
estimated to average 1 hour per response, including the time for
reviewing instructions, searching existing data sources, gathering and
maintaining the data needed, and completing and reviewing the
collection of information.
The annual reporting burden is estimated as follows: Respondent,
5,000; responses per respondent, 7; total annual responses, 35,000;
preparation hours per response, 1; and total response burden hours,
35,000.
