New York State Electric & Gas Corporation; Notice of Filing

November 7, 1997.
    Take notice that New York State Electric & Gas Corporation filed on 
October 30, 1997 the revised Summary of Quarterly Activity (the 
``Summary'') for the calendar year quarter ending June 30, 1997 
pursuant to Section 205 of the Federal Power Act, 16 U.S.C. Sec. 824d 
(1985), and part 35 of the Commission's Rules of Practice and 
Procedure, 18 CFR part 35, and in accordance with Ordering Paragraph J 
of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission's June 9, 1997 order (the 
``Order'') in Docket No. ER97-2518-000.
    Any person desiring to be heard or to protest said filing should 
file a motion to intervene or protest with the Federal Energy 
Regulatory Commission, 888 First Street, N.E., Washington, D.C. 20426, 
in accordance with Rules 211 and 214 of the Commission's Rules of 
Practice and Procedure (18 CFR 385.211 and 18 CFR 385.214). All such 
motions or protests should be filed on or before November 21, 1997. 
Protests will be considered by the Commission in determining the 
appropriate action to be taken, but will not serve to make protestants 
parties to the proceeding. Any person wishing to become a party must 
file a motion to intervene. Copies of this filing are on file with the 
Commission and are available for public inspection.
