Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement Specifications 
and Standards

AGENCY: Department of Defense (DoD).

ACTION: Proposed rule; withdrawal.

SUMMARY: The Department of Defense (DoD) has decided to withdraw a 
proposed rule published on December 23, 1994 (59 FR 66287). The rule 
proposed DFARS revisions to reflect DoD's commitment to minimizing the 
use of military and Federal specifications and standards and maximizing 
the use of performance specifications and non-Government standards. The 
DoD has determined that changes to DoD Instruction 5000.2 would result 
in more effective implementation of those commitments. Therefore, the 
proposed DFARS rule is withdrawn.
