AGENCY: National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS), National Oceanic and

ACTION: Notice of public meeting.

SUMMARY: The Mid-Atlantic Fishery Management Council and the New
England Fishery Management Council will hold a public meeting.
DATES: The meetings will be held on Wednesday, December 2, 1998, from
10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. and Thursday, December 3, 1998, from 8:00
a.m. until 3:00 p.m.

SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION: The purpose of this meeting is to review
public hearing comments on the Spiny Dogfish Fishery Management Plan
and develop recommendations for possible modifications to the
management alternatives for consideration by the New England and Mid-
Atlantic Councils.
Although other issues not contained in this agenda may come before
the Committee for discussion, in accordance with the Magnuson-Stevens
Fishery Conservation and Management Act, those issues may not be the
subject of formal action during this meeting. Action will be restricted
to those issues specifically identified in this notice.
