Reedsport-Fairview Transmission Project
AGENCY: Bonneville Power Administration (BPA), Department of Energy
(DOE).
ACTION: Notice of Floodplain and Wetlands Involvement.

SUMMARY: This notice announces BPA's proposal to reconstruct or
relocate a section of the Reedsport-Fairview No. 1 115-kilovolt (kV)
transmission line located in Coos County, Oregon. This action will
improve BPA's ability to maintain this section of line. In accordance
with DOE regulations for compliance with floodplain and wetlands
environmental review requirements, BPA will prepare a floodplain and
wetlands assessment and will perform this proposed action in a manner
so as to avoid or minimize potential harm to or within any affected
floodplain and wetlands. The assessment will be included in the
environmental assessment being prepared for the proposed project in
accordance with the requirements of the National Environmental Policy
Act. A floodplain statement of findings will be included in any finding
of no significant impact that may be issued following the completion of
the environmental assessment.

SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION: The project would include the following
types of activities that may involve work in wetlands and floodplains:
constructing or removing transmission line structures and conductors
and access road building or regrading. The project area is located in
Coos County, Oregon. Wetlands and floodplains that may be affected by
the project are in the Ross, Shinglehouse, Isthmus, and Coalbank
Sloughs and located in T26S, R12W, Sections 7, 18, and 19; T26S, R13W,
Sections 1, 3, 10, 12, 15, 23, and 37.
