Pacific Fishery Management Council; Public Meeting

AGENCY: National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS), National Oceanic and 
Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), Commerce.

ACTION: Notice of public meeting.

SUMMARY: The Pacific Fishery Management Council's (Council) ad-hoc 
policy committee for developing goals and objectives for a long-term 
technical assessment of non-catch salmon mortalities in Council salmon 
fisheries will hold a public meeting.

DATES: The meeting will be held on Wednesday, December 9, 1998, 
beginning at 11:00 a.m. and will continue until 5:00 p.m.

SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION: The purpose of the meeting is to begin 
developing goals and objectives for a long-term technical assessment of 
non-catch mortalities in Council fisheries.
    Although other issues not contained in this agenda may come before 
the Council for discussion, in accordance with the Magnuson-Stevens 
Conservation and Management Act, those issues may not be the subject of 
formal action during this meeting. Action will be restricted to those 
issues specifically identified in this notice.
