Federal Telecommunication Standards
AGENCY: National Communications System (NCS), Office of Technology and
Standards.
ACTION: Notice for comment on proposed standard.

SUMMARY: The purpose of this notice is to solicit the views of Federal
agencies, industry, the public, and State and local governments on
proposed Federal Telecommunications Standard 1052;
``Telecommunications: High Frequency Radio Modems.'' All comments,
including those previously received, will be given full consideration.
DATES: Comments are due on or before March 3, 1995.

SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION:
1. The General Services Administration (GSA) is responsible under
the provisions of the Federal Property and Administrative Services act
of 1949, as amended, for the Federal Standardization Program. On August
14, 1972, the Administrator of General Services designated the National
Communications System (NCS) as the responsible agent for the
development of Federal telecommunication standards for NCS
interoperability and the computer communication interface.
2. Prior to the adoption of proposed Federal standards, it is
important that proper consideration be given to the needs and views of
Federal agencies, industry, the public, and State and local
governments.
3. Requests for copies of the September 28, 1994 draft proposed
FED-STD-1052 should be directed to the National Communications System,
Office of Technology and Standards, Attn: NT, 701 South Court House
Road, Arlington, VA 22204-2198.
