DEPARTMENT OF LABOR
Employment and Training Administration
[TA-W-32,498]
Lucent Technologies, Incorporated, Berg Electronics, Inc., Lee's
Summit, Missouri; Amended Certification Regarding Eligibility To Apply
for Worker Adjustment Assistance
In accordance with Section 223 of the Trade Act of 1974 (19 USC
2273) the Department of Labor issued a Notice of Certification
Regarding Eligibility to Apply for Worker Adjustment Assistance on
August 20, 1996, applicable to workers of Lucent Technologies,
Incorporated located in Lee's Summit, Missouri. The notice was
published in the Federal Register on September 13, 1996 (610 FR 48504).
At the request of the State agency, the Department reviewed the
certification for workers of the subject firm. Review of the
certification shows that the name of the parent company, Berg
Electronics, Inc., was inadvertently excluded from the certification.
Accordingly, the Department is amending the worker certification to
reflect this matter.
The intent of the Department's certification is to include all
workers of the subject firm who were adversely affected by increased
imports.
The amended notice applicable to TA-W-32,498 is hereby issued as
follows:
All workers of Lucent Technologies, Incorporated and Berg
Electronics, Inc., Lee's Summit, Missouri, who became totally or
partially separated from employment on or after June 19, 1995
through August 20, 1998, are eligible to apply for adjustment
assistance under Section 223 of the Trade Act of 1974.
Signed at Washington, DC, this 28th day of October 1997.
Grant D. Beale,
Acting Director, Office of Trade Adjustment Assistance.
