Mississippi River Transmission Corporation; Notice of Proposed
    Changes in FERC Gas Tariff

    November 24, 1997.
Take notice that on November 20, 1997, Mississippi River
Transmission Corporation (MRT) tendered for filing as part of its FERC
Gas Tariff, Third Revised Volume No. 1, the tariff sheets listed on
    Appendix A to the filing.
MRT states that on July 25, 1997, it filed an uncontested
Stipulation and Agreement (S&A) in the above captioned docket. On
October 21, 1997, the Commission issued an order approving without
    modification the S&A.
MRT states that the purpose of the instant filing is to implement
certain of the terms and provisions of the S&A, as provided therein,
and to explain why the elimination of the definition of Receipt Point
MDQ is relevant to the elimination of Flexible Contract Demand.
MRT states that a copy of this filing has been mailed to each of
MRTs jurisdictional customers, parties on the service list in this
proceeding, and to the state commissions of Arkansas, Illinois and
    Missouri.
Any person desiring to protest said filing should file a protest
with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, 888 First Street, N.E.,
Washington, D.C. 20426, in accordance with Section 385.211 of the
Commission's Rules of Practice and Procedure. All such protests should
be filed in accordance with Section 154.210 of the Commission's
Regulations. Protests will be considered by the Commission in
determining the appropriate action to be taken, but will not serve to
make protestants parties to the proceeding. Copies of this filing are
on file with the Commission an are available for public inspection.
