    Midwestern Gas Transmission Company; Notice of Tariff Filing
    
    December 4, 1998.
        Take notice that on December 1, 1998, Midwestern Gas Transmission 
    Company (Midwestern), tendered for filing as part of its FERC Gas 
    Tariff, Second Revised Volume No. 1, Ninth Revised Sheet No. 5, with an 
    effective date of January 1, 1999.
        Midwestern states that it is submitting the revised tariff sheet 
    pursuant to Article XVII of the General Terms and Conditions of its 
    Tariff, the March 10, 1998 Stipulation and Agreement filed in Docket 
    No. RP97-149, et al., and approved by the Commission on April 29, 1998, 
    and the Commission's ``Order Approving the Gas Research Institute's 
    1999 Research, Development and Demonstration Program and 1999-2003 
    Five-Year Plan'' issued in Docket No. RP98-235. See Gas Research 
    Institute, 83 FERC 61,093 (1998); Gas Research Institute, 84 FERC 
    61,326 (1998). Midwestern further states that tariff sheet revises the 
    Gas Research Institute surcharges for 1999.
        Any person desiring to be heard or to protest said filing should 
    file a motion to intervene or a protest with the Federal Energy 
    Regulatory Commission, 888 First Street, N.E., Washington, D.C. 20426, 
    in accordance with Sections 385.214 or 385.211 of the Commission's 
    Rules and Regulations. All such motions or protests must be filed in 
    accordance with Section 154.210 of the Commission's Regulations. 
    Protests will be considered by the Commission in determining the 
    appropriate action to be taken, but will not serve to make protestants 
    parties to the proceedings. Any person wishing to become a party must 
    file a motion to intervene. Copies of this filing are on file with the 
    Commission and are available for public inspection in the Public 
    Reference Room.
