Notice Pursuant to the National Cooperative Research and 
Production Act of 1993--The Salutation Consortium

    Notice is hereby given that, on October 15, 1996, pursuant to 
Sec. 6(a) of the National Cooperative Research and Production Act of 
1993, 15 U.S.C. Sec. 4301 et seq. (``the Act''), the Salutation 
Consortium has filed written notifications simultaneously with the 
Attorney General and the Federal Trade Commission disclosing changes in 
its membership. The notifications were filed for the purpose of 
extending the Act's provisions limiting the recovery of antitrust 
plaintiffs to actual damages under specified circumstances. 
Specifically, the changes are as follows: Iwatsu Electric Co., Ltd., 
Tokyo, JAPAN has been added to the venture.
    No other changes have been made in the membership or the planned 
activity of the joint venture. Membership in the venture remains open 
and the Consortium intends to file additional written notifications 
disclosing all changes in membership.
    On March 30, 1995, the Salutation Consortium, under the name 
SmartOffice Industry Consortium, filed its original notification 
pursuant to Sec. 6(a) of the Act. The Department of Justice published a 
notice in the Federal Register pursuant to Sec. 6(b) of the Act on June 
27, 1995 (60 FR 33233). The last notification was filed on July 19, 
1996. The Department of Justice published a notice in the Federal 
Register on September 17, 1996 (61 FR 48983).
