Pursuant to the Federal Advisory Committee Act, the Department of
Health and Human Services announces the following advisory committee
meeting.
NAME: National Committee on Vital and Health Statistics (NCVHS).

STATUS: Open.
PURPOSE: The NCVHS is the statutory public advisory body to the U.S.
Department of Health and Human Services on health data, privacy, and
health information policy. During this conference call, the Committee
will discuss its proposed comments on the Notice of Proposed Rule
Making (NPRM) for Standards for Privacy of Individually Identifiable
Health Information, recently released by HHS as required by the Health
Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996.
Notice: This conference call is open to the public using the
participants' dial-in telephone number and participants' code, but
access may be limited by the number of available telephone lines.
