SUMMARY:
The information collection requirements described below will be submitted to the Office of Management and Budget (“OMB”) for review, as required by the Paperwork Reduction Act (“PRA”). The FTC is seeking public comments on its proposal to extend for an additional three years its OMB clearance for the information collection requirements contained in the Commission's Business Opportunity Rule (“Rule”). That clearance expires on January 31, 2018.

On September 28, 2017, the FTC sought public comment on the information collection requirements associated with the Rule (September 28, 2017 Notice [1] ), 16 CFR part 437 (OMB Control Number 3084-0142). No relevant comments were received. Pursuant to the OMB regulations, 5 CFR part 1320, that implement the PRA, 44 U.S.C. 3501 et seq., the FTC is providing this second opportunity for public comment while seeking OMB approval to renew the pre-existing clearance for the Rule.
Burden Statement
As detailed in the September 28, 2017 Notice, the FTC estimates cumulative annual burden on affected entities to be 10,065 hours, $2,516,250 in labor costs, and $3,062,224 in non-labor costs.
