This notice contains a summary of a petition seeking relief from specified requirements of 14 CFR. Petition for Exemption

Docket No.: FAA-2008-1283.

Petitioner: Alenia Aeronautica, S.p.A.

Section of 14 CFR Affected: 14 CFR 26.37 (b).

Description of Relief Sought: Alenia seeks exemption, for airplane model C-27J, from 26.37 (b) to permit relief from the ignition-source-prevention requirements included in § 25.981(a)(d) at Amendment 25-125, and to show compliance with SFAR 88 requirements. Alenia proposes to comply with SFAR 88 within 18 months after type certification (TC) to address the ignition-prevention requirements, with confirmation that the C-27J meets flammability-reduction requirements at TC date.
