AGENCY: Federal Communications Commission.
ACTION: Proposed rule.

SUMMARY: The Commission requests comments on a petition by Dominant
Communications Corporation proposing the allotment of Channel 288A at
Redwood, Mississippi, as the community's first local aural transmission
service. Channel 288A can be allotted to Redwood in compliance with the
Commission's minimum distance separation requirements with a site
restriction of 2.8 kilometers (1.7 miles) south in order to avoid a
short-spacing conflict with the licensed site of Station WNLA(FM),
Channel 288A, Indianola, Mississippi. The coordinates for Channel 288A
at Redwood are 32-27-13 and 90-48-42.
DATES: Comments must be filed on or before January 6, 1997, and reply
comments on or before January 21, 1997.

Provisions of the Regulatory Flexibility Act of 1980 do not apply
