Special Studies Program; Notice Inviting Applications for New
Awards for Fiscal Year (FY) 1995
Purpose of Program: To support studies to evaluate the impact of
the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), including
efforts to provide a free appropriate public education to children and
youth with disabilities and early intervention services to infants and
toddlers with disabilities.
This notice supports the National Education Goals by improving
understanding of how to enable children and youth with disabilities to
reach higher levels of academic achievement.
Eligible Applicants: Under Absolute Priorities 1 (Center to Support
the Achievement of World Class Outcomes for Students with Disabilities,
84.159C), and 2 (Longitudinal Study of the Impact of Early Intervention
Services on Infants and Toddlers with Disabilities, 84.159E), public or
private agencies, institutions, organizations, and other appropriate
parties are eligible to apply. See 34 CFR 327.2(a).
Applicable Regulations: (a) The Education Department General
Administrative Regulations (EDGAR) in 34 CFR Parts 74, 75, 77, 80, 81,
82, 85, and 86; and (b) The regulations for this program in 34 CFR Part
327.
Applications Available: January 20, 1995.
Priorities: The priorities in the notice of final priorities for
this program, as published elsewhere in this issue of the Federal
Register, apply to these competitions.
