    Notice.

    SUMMARY:

    In compliance with the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995 (44 U.S.C. 3501 et seq.), this notice announces that the Information Collection Request (ICR) abstracted below has been forwarded to the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) for an extension of the currently aproved collection. The ICR describes the nature of the information collection and the expected burden. The Federal Register Notice with a 60-day comment period soliciting comments on the following collections of information was published on June 30, 2000 (FR 65, page 40716).

    Comments must be submitted on or before January 22, 2001. A comment to OMB is most effective if OMB receives it within 30 days of publication.

    SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION:

    Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)

    Title: Pilot Records Improvement Act of 1996.

    Type of Request: Extension of a currently approved collection.

    OMB Control Number: 2120-0607.

    Form(s): FAA Forms 8060-10 and 8060-11.

    Affected Public: Air Carriers.

    Abstract: 49 U.S.C. 44936(f)(1), mandates that all air carriers request and receive FAA records, air carrier and other records, and National Driver Register records before allow an individual to begin service as a pilot. An air carrier may use the forms to request the records of all applicants for the position of pilot. The information collected on the form will be used to facilitate search and retrieval of the requested records.

    Estimated Annual Burden Hours: 101,708 burden hours annually.
