DEPARTMENT OF LABOR
Employment and Training Administration
[TA-W-36,319]
Unger Fabrik A/K/A Michel Palini, Los Angeles, CA; Amended
Certification Regarding Eligibility To Apply for Worker Adjustment
Assistance
In accordance with Section 223 of the Trade Act of 1974 (19 USC
2273) the Department of Labor issued a Certification of Eligibility to
Apply for Worker Adjustment Assistance on June 28, 1999, applicable to
workers of Unger Fabric, Los Angeles, California. The notice was
published in the Federal Register on July 20, 1999 (64 FR 38921).
At the request of the State agency, the Department reviewed the
certification for workers of the subject firm. The workers were engaged
in the production of apparel (male and female). Findings show that
correct spelling of the subject firm is ``Unger Fabrik''. Findings also
show that some workers separated from employment at Unger Fabrik had
their wages reported under a separate unemployment insurance (UI) tax
account for Michel Palini, Los Angeles, California.
The intent of the Department's certification is to include all
workers of Unger Fabrik who were adversely affected by increased
imports. Accordingly, the Department is amending the certification to
reflect this matter.
The amended notice applicable to TA-W-36,319 is hereby issued as
follows:
All workers of Unger Fabrik, also known as Michel Palini, Los
Angeles, California who became totally or partially separated from
employment on or after May 3, 1998 through June 28, 2001 are
eligible to apply for adjustment assistance under Section 223 of the
Trade Act of 1974.
Signed at Washington, DC this 6th day of December, 1999.
Grant D. Beale,
Program Manager, Office of Trade Adjustment Assistance.
