El Paso Natural Gas Company; Notice of Compliance Filing

December 19, 1996.
    Take notice that on December 16, 1996, pursuant to Subpart C of 154 
of the Commission's Regulations Under the Natural Gas Act and in 
Compliance with the Commission's order issued November 15, 1996 at 
Docket No. RP97-20-000, El Paso Natural Gas Company (El Paso) tendered 
for filing and acceptance the revised pro forma tariff sheets to its 
FERC Gas Tariff, Third Revised Volume No. 1 and Second Revised Volume 
No. 1-A, identified below.

    El Paso states that the pro forma tariff sheet are being tendered 
to list the Gas Industry Standards Board (GISB) Standards that are 
incorporated by reference and to revise the intra-day scheduling and 
pooling provisions. The tendered pro forma tariff sheets are proposed 
to become effective April 1, 1997.
    El Paso states that copies of the filing were served upon all 
parties of record in this proceeding.
    Any person desiring to protest said filing should file a protest 
with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, 888 First Street, N.E., 
Washington, D.C. 20426, in accordance with Section 385.211 of the 
Commission's Rules and Regulations. All such protests must be filed on 
or before January 6, 1997. Protests will be considered by the 
Commission in determining the appropriate action to be taken, but will 
not serve to make protestants parties to the proceeding. Copies of this 
filing are on file with the Commission and are available for public 
inspection in the Public Reference Room.
