Deep Seabed Mining; Issuance of Exploration License
AGENCY: National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. Commerce.
ACTION: Notice of issuance of Deep Seabed Mining Exploration License
USA-4 to Ocean Minerals Company (OMCO).

SUMMARY: On June 22, 1993, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric
Administration (NOAA) noticed at 58 FR 33933 surrender of Deep Seabed
Exploration License USA-4, which was previously issued to the Kennecott
Consortium, Salt Lake City, Utah, pursuant to section 115(a) of the
Deep Seabed Hard Mineral Resources Act (the ``Act'') Public Law 96-283,
and NOAA's regulations, 15 CFR 971.803(a).
On June 17, NOAA received from Ocean Minerals Company (OMCO), P.O.
Box 2227, Menlo Park, California 94026, an application to conduct deep
seabed mining exploration activities in license site USA-4. Notice of
this action was published at 58 FR 34782 on June 29, 1993, in
accordance with section 116 of the Act. NOAA has completed processing
OMCO's application in accordance with the Act and 15 CFR Part 970 and
announces herewith issuance of Deep Seabed Mining Exploration License
USA-4 to Ocean Minerals Company, as approved by NOAA on December 22,
1994, subject to the required terms, conditions and restrictions.
Pursuant to 15 CFR 971.802, which excludes certain proprietary
information from public disclosure, interested persons will be
permitted to examine the materials relevant to this action at the
address below.
