clearance the following proposal for collection of information under 
the provisions of the Paperwork Reduction Act (44 U.S.C. Chapter 35).
    Agency: National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).
    Title: Licensing of Private Remote Sensing Space Systems.
    Agency Form Number: None.
    OMB Approval Number: 0648-0174.
    Type of Request: Extension of the expiration date of a currently 
approved collection.
    Burden 96 hours.
    Avg Hours Per Response: 16 hours.
    Number of Respondents: 6.
    Needs and Uses: Title II of the Land Remote Sensing Act of 1992 
requires that anyone who operates a private remote-sensing space system 
must obtain a license from the Secretary of Commerce.The information 
provided in the application is used to determine if U.S. security and 
international obligations are protected, and that the applicant will 
provide access to unenhanced data on a nondiscriminatory basis.
    Affected Public: Businesses or other for-profit institutions, 
federal agencies or employees.
    Frequency: On occasion.
    Respondent's Obligation: Required to obtain or retain a benefit.
