Delegation of Authority To Perform Duties Under the Child Support
Performance and Incentive Act; Pension and Welfare Benefits
Administration
On December 16, 1998, I issued a memorandum delegating to the
Assistant Secretary for Pension and Welfare Benefits the authority to
carry out the programs and activities to be performed by the Secretary
of Labor under section 401 of the Child Support Performance and
Incentive Act of 1998. The Secretarial duty to jointly submit a report
to each House of the Congress under section 401(a)(5)(B) is reserved to
the Secretary. A copy of that memorandum is annexed hereto as an
Appendix.

Memorandum for Meredith Miller, Deputy Assistant Secretary for
Pension and Welfare Benefits

Subject: Delegation of Authority to the Assistant Secretary for
Pension and Welfare Benefits
Effective immediately, the Assistant Secretary for Pension and
Welfare Benefits is hereby delegated authority and assigned
responsibility for carrying out programs and activities to be
performed by the Secretary of Labor under section 401 of the Child
Support Performance and Incentive Act of 1998 (Pub. L. 105-200),
including all attendant administrative duties necessary for carrying
out such programs and activities. The duty to jointly submit a
report to each House of the Congress with the Secretary of Health
and Human Services under section 401(a)(5)(B) of the Child Support
Performance and Incentive Act is reserved to the Secretary.
