ACTION: Notice of meeting.

SUMMARY: The FAA is issuing this notice to advise the public of a
meeting of the Executive Committee of the Federal Aviation
Administration Aviation Rulemaking Advisory Committee.
DATES: The meeting will be held on January 8, 1998, at 1 p.m.

SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION: Pursuant to section 10(a)(2) of the Federal
Advisory Committee Act (Pub. L. 92-463; 5 U.S.C. App. II), notice is
hereby given of a meeting of the Executive Committee to be held on
January 8, 1998, at the Federal Aviation Administration, 800
Independence Avenue, SW., Room 810, Washington, DC, 1 p.m. The purpose
of the meeting is to review and discuss a proposed new task--Prevention
of Fuel Tank Explosions.
Attendance is open to the interested public but will be limited to
the space available. The public may participate by teleconference by
calling 202-493-4180, pass code 2222. Written statements from the
public may be presented to the executive committee at any time by
providing 25 copies to the Executive Director, or by bringing the
copies to him at the meeting.
Sign and oral interpretation can be made available at the meeting,
as well as an assistive listening device, if requested 10 calendar days
before the meeting. Arrangements may be made by contacting the person
