SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION:
Background
On August 29, 1997, the Department received a request for an
administrative review of the countervailing duty order from Altos
Hornos de Mexico S.A. de C.V. (``AHMSA''), for the period January 1,
1996 through December 31, 1996. On September 25, 1997, the Department
published in the Federal Register (62 FR 50292) a notice of
``Initiation of Countervailing Duty Administrative Review'' initiating
the administrative review. On November 4, 1997, AHMSA withdrew its
request for review.
The applicable regulation, 19 CFR 351.213(d)(1), stipulates that
the Secretary may permit a party that requested an administrative
review to withdraw the request within 90 days of the date of
publication of notice of initiation of the requested review. In this
case, the respondent has withdrawn its request within the 90 day
period. No other interested party requested a review, and we have
received no other submissions regarding AHMSA's withdrawal of its
request for review. Therefore, we are rescinding this review of the
countervailing duty order on cut-to-length steel plate from Mexico.
This notice is published in accordance with 19 CFR 351.213(d)(4).
Dated: November 21, 1997.
Louis Apple,
Acting Deputy Assistant Secretary, Group II, Import Administration.
