    Mid Louisiana Gas Company; Notice of Proposed Changes In FERC Gas 
    Tariff
    
    December 23, 1996.
        Take Notice that on December 18, 1996, Mid Louisiana Gas Company 
    (Mid Louisiana) tendered for filing as part of its FERC Gas Tariff, 
    First Revised Volume No. 1, the following tariff sheets, with a 
    proposed effective date of January 20, 1997:
    
    Original Sheet No. 1B
    First Revised Sheet No. 188
    First Revised Sheet No. 189
    
        Mid Louisiana states that the filing of the Revised Tariff Sheet is 
    in response to Commission Orders 582 and 582-A, in Docket No. RM95-3-
    000 and RM95-3-001 wherein the Commission revised the filing and 
    reporting requirements for interstate natural gas companies with regard 
    to rate schedules and tariffs.
        Pursuant to Section 154.7(a)(7) of the Commission's Regulations, 
    Mid Louisiana respectfully requests waiver of any requirement of the 
    Regulations in order to permit the tendered tariff sheets to become 
    effective January 20, 1997, as submitted.
        Any person desiring to be heard or to protest said filing should 
    file a motion to intervene or protest with the Federal Energy 
    Regulatory Commission, 888 First Street N.E., Washington, D.C. 20426, 
    in accordance with Sections 385.214 and 385.211 of the Commission's 
    Rules and Regulations. All such motions or protests must be filed in 
    accordance with Section 154.210 of the Commission's Regulations. 
    Protests will be considered by the Commission in determining the 
    appropriate action to be taken, but will not serve to make protestants 
    parties to the proceeding. Any person wishing to become a party must 
    file a motion to intervene. Copies of this filing are on file with the 
    Commission and are available for public inspection in the Public 
    Reference Room.
